Kia Forte vs. Nissan Sentra: Which Sedan Should You Buy in Pueblo, CO?

Kia Forte vs. Nissan Sentra | Pueblo, CO

If you’re shopping for a used car in Pueblo, you have many options to choose from. While some automakers are shying away from producing sedans, you can still find a multitude of options in our inventory and when you visit us!

Value and affordability

These two sedans are incredibly comparable when it comes to what you’ll spend. Most 2019 models in our inventory have the same starting price of under $20K — making either an ideal choice for a young driver or a family on a budget.

Historically, the Kia Forte has incredible value, as determined by data compilation and analysis company Vincentric. From 2019-2021, the Forte was ranked at the top of its segment in the Vincentric Best Fleet Value in America awards.

The Nissan Sentra, however, has its fair share of value-based honors. The sedan was given a high ranking by J.D. Power in 2020 and was named a finalist for North American Car of the Year™ in 2021 thanks to its updated tech and standard features at the time.

Performance and efficiency

When it comes to fuel economy, both the Forte and Sentra offer much better efficiency ratings than an SUV or truck. That’s the benefit of driving a sedan in addition to lower overall costs!

The Forte has consistently had high efficiency ratings of up to 41 mpg on the highway in 2019 and 2020 models. Even in older models, you could still get up to 37 mpg on the highway, which is where the 2019 Sentra sits as well. But more recent models of the Sentra have been able to get up to 39 mpg on the highway, putting it incredibly close to the Forte.[1]

Maximum power isn’t usually what you’re looking for in a sedan, but it’s still nice to have a bit of a punch behind the wheel to make the drive more fun. Certain Sentra models with a turbocharged engine can get up to 188 horsepower. The Forte GT also features a turbo engine and allows the sedan to reach up to 201 horsepower.

Advanced safety

Technology is constantly changing to provide drivers with the utmost safety behind the wheel. But used Sentra and Forte models still come with intelligent safety tech to give you added peace of mind.

For example, many used Forte models come with helpful systems like Lane Keeping Assist, Lane Departure Warning, Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist, Driver Alertness Monitoring, Front-Collision Mitigation, and low tire pressure warnings.

Used Sentra models come with many of the same standard driver-assist safety systems. You could also find things like a back-up camera as well as a day-night rearview mirror to help when the vehicle is in reverse.

Comfort amenities

Depending on what you need your new-to-you sedan for, you may want to splurge on upscale materials and features within the cabin. Or if you’re worried about spills or distractions, going with a simplified cabin may be what’s best for you.

The Sentra has offered various desirable amenities in its cabin over the years, including things like a leather-wrapped steering wheel, dual-zone climate control, Piano Black and Chrome accents, and a valet function. When you opt for higher trims of the Sentra, you’ll find things like suede seat trim with accent stitching, leather seats, and more.

The Forte also offers dual-zone climate control and a leather-wrapped steering wheel on many used models. Seat trimming varies from soft cloth to easy-to-clean SynTex (synthetic leather) while the driver’s seat is often manually adjustable on base models. Higher trims of the Forte often offer heated and ventilated front seats.
